Which data do we use?

We process only the data that we have received through our business relationship with you. We obtain the data directly from you. If you want to register for a test (e.g. TOEIC), you can do this by providing the necessary information in writing or via E-mail. You tell us your surname, first names, date of birth and your contact details. In addition, we asked for details of your course of studies if you are a student. We also ask you to tell us whether you have previously taken part in the test or will do so before our test date. If you order a translation, you tell us your name, contact details and your postal address for invoicing purposes.

You can access our website without entering any personal information. When you call up our website, data such as the name of your internet provider, the website from which you initiated your visit, date and time of your visit and your IP address is stored on the server of our web space provider for security purposes. This data could potentially enable identification; however no person-related utilization takes place in this context.

Why do we need your data?

We need your data to fulfil our obligations according to Art. 6 para. 1b GDPR. Your data is entered into lists, stored and utilized. Beyond our contractual obligations, we process your data in the context of our legitimate interests (Art 6 para. 1f GDPR).

This applies, for example, to information about our services and for statistical purposes. In statistical evaluations you will never be named personally; the data will be used in such a way that no conclusions can be drawn about you as a person.

Who will receive your data?

Your person-related data is only processed by us insofar as you have provided us with this data and it is necessary in order to perform our services for you. Your data will only be received by the persons who need it in order to fulfil our contractual and legal obligations. Passing on of the data to third parties only takes place insofar as we are obliged to do this because of legal obligations or orders from official public authorities, or it is specifically described in our data protection declaration, or you have given your personal consent to the passing on of the data.

How long will your data be stored?

Your data will be stored, processed and used as long as you have a current test registration, translation order or other contracts or orders with us. After this, your data will be stored within the framework of the legal storage periods. We keep registration documents and payment data for ten years; data relating to tests/examinations is kept permanently.

Which rights do you have?

Everyone has the right to information according to article 15 GDPR, the right to correction according to article 16 GDPR, the right to deletion according to article 17 GDPR, the right to limitation of processing according to an article 18 GDPR, the right of refusal according to article 21 GDPR as well as the right to data transfer according to article 20 GDPR. In addition, there is a right to lodge complaints according to article 77 GDPR.

If you have given your consent to data processing, this can be withdrawn at any time. In particular, the use of data that was collected according to article 6f GDPR on the basis of a particular interest or for statistical or informational purposes, can be refused. This withdrawal of consent does not require a particular procedure. It is sufficient to send an E-mail to the following address:

Do you have to provide your data?

With the registration for a test, you have filled in a registration form or have provided your registration data via E-mail. With the confirmation of registration, you are registered as a participant. As a translation customer you have provided your contact and invoicing data. You have thereby agreed to the collection, processing and use of the data. We require this data in order to fulfil our contractual obligations.

Changes to this data protection declaration

Changes to our offer of information services as well as changes to the law and regulations from authorities can make it necessary to update this data protection declaration.
